I grew up in a small town in Maryland and I lived there my whole life until 2020, when I packed up for a change in scenery to Myrtle Beach. I spent 18 years as a dancer, which taught me more about how bodies move and how to help someone feel comfortable in front of a camera than any class ever could. These days, home is my 7-year-old daughter, my boyfriend Jeremy, and our dog Rascal.
A few months ago, I was unexpectedly laid off from a job I truly enjoyed. It turned my world upside down. For the first time, I had a real choice in front of me: apply for a new job and probably land one that keeps me content, or take the harder, scarier route and build something of my own that I am truly passionate about.
It was actually my boyfriend Jeremy's idea to pursue photography. He used to be a photographer himself, and he helped me pick out my equipment and get everything started. I have always had an eye for creativity, but I never expected it to translate so naturally into this. Turns out it did.
I took being laid off as a nudge from the universe. A push to choose something that actually aligns with who I am, instead of just going back to what is comfortable.
And that is how The House of Whimsy was built. A space where magic, laughter, and authenticity are let loose and you are given room to be your true self. I want you to choose me as your photographer not only for the photos, but also for the experience. I want to create an environment where you feel safe, understood, and are able to let go. I want you to walk away from our sessions feeling like you made a new friend.
